Call for Editors: Emotions: History, Culture, Society (EHCS) is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary biannual journal published by Brill Publishing on behalf of the Society for the History of Emotions. EHCS is dedicated to understanding the emotions as culturally and temporally situated phenomena, and to exploring the role of emotion in shaping human experience and action by individuals, groups, societies and cultures.

JOURNAL EDITORS – The current editors are Katie Barclay, Andrew Lynch and Giovanni Tarantino. Due to the retirement of Andrew Lynch, we are now looking for one or more editors to join the editorial team, alongside Barclay and Tarantino. We are particularly interested in expressions of interest from emotions researchers who can expand the disciplinary, geographical and temporal breadth of the current editors (both historians of early modern Europe). This role involves full editorial responsibility for the two issues of the journal each year, including recruiting submissions, managing peer review and preparing articles for submission, proof-reading and similar activities. We are supported by our publishing team at Brill and a professional copyeditor. If you are interested, please send us a short expression of interest to editemotions@gmail.com detailing your research interest/expertise and any relevant experience by 30 September 2021.

BOOK REVIEWS EDITOREHCS also calls for a new book reviews editor or editors to take over this role from Giovanni Tarantino. The role involves identifying appropriate books and their reviewers, editing copy, and managing the timely submission of reviews. This role might be especially suitable for an ECR scholar who would like some experience of working as part of a journal editorial team; however we welcome expressions of interest from emotions scholars at any career stage. Please send a short expression of interest to editemotions@gmail.com detailing your research interests/expertise and any relevant experience by 30 September 2021. We look forward to receiving your nominations!
